In my experience with a couple different 35 to USB C adapters the audio comes threw fine b. There doesnt have to be anything faulty with your phone or the headphones for them to not work. USB-C audio standards are not universal so just because headphones are USB-C it doesnt mean theyll work with the Moto Z.
